Promotional clocks are practical products used on executive’s desks to measure time.

Benjamin Franklin, an American politician from the 1700s, famously iterated "Time is money". The world renowned, famous author, Emily Bronte once said "A person who has not done one half his day's work by ten o’clock, runs a chance of leaving the other half undone". How do you check the time when at your desk?

Man has used sun dials, the moon, the stars, the sea, satellites, watches and clocks to measure time. Different faiths use different ways of measuring time as well, such as Muslims, Maoris and Druids, to name a few, use the lunar calendar.

In England we use the Gregorian Calendar. The Gregorian calendar is today's internationally accepted civil calendar and is also known as the "Western calendar" or "Christian calendar". It was named after the man who first introduced it in February 1582: Pope Gregory XIII. 

The calendar is strictly a solar calendar based on a 365-day common year divided into 12 months of irregular lengths. Each month consists of either 30 or 31 days with 1 month consisting of 28 days during the common year. A Leap Year usually occurs every 4 years which adds an extra day to make the second month of February 29 days long rather than 28 days.

Jewish people believe there are two distinct units of time which are not dependent on each other: a year, and a month. A year is a unit of time measured by a cycle of the sun, and a month is a unit of time measured by a cycle of the moon. In the Jewish calendar, they reconcile both methods of calculation because they were commanded to sanctify the lunar months, and they were also commanded to celebrate each of the holidays in its appropriate season. In order to accomplish that, they have leap years which contain 13 lunar months instead of 12, to make up the difference of days between a solar year and 12 lunar months.

The Chinese New Year is celebrated with a festival that begins on the first day of the first lunar month in the Chinese calendar and ends on the fifteenth day (at least since the Han Dynasty—before that, dynasties celebrated during the twelfth, eleventh or tenth months).

One of my favourite time quotes is from Golda Meir, former Israeli Prime Minister who said "I must govern the clock, not be governed by it".

Time is something that we can never get back and thus we should not waste it, professionally and personally. No matter how much money you have, you will never have enough to buy back time.
