Business & Credit Card Holders

Business card holders would have been a great promotional gift from Thomas Friedman as he famously said "Rock stars get room keys, I get business cards”. Gifts that are apt and practical are the most appropriate present to give. This gives the present meaning and will result in the individual, in this case, but would normally be the brand, gaining awareness and goodwill.

17th Century French writer, Voltaire, said “Each player must accept the cards life deals him or her: but once they are in hand, he or she alone must decide how to play the cards in order to win the game.” This quote can be used in all works of life including in the office. I believe Voltaire was way ahead of his time and he is telling us to “Get on with it.”

During hard economic times where austerity measures are being implemented and where the amount of cash in our pockets is shrinking we must do whatever we can to “Get on with it!”

The imminent Eurozone debt crisis with Greece, closely followed by Spain, Italy and Ireland is causing great concern. The cost of insuring Spanish debt hit another high. Bloomberg began testing the reintroduction of the drachma as part of a contingency plan and Silvio Berlusconi suggested that Italy should start printing its own euros to fix the debt crisis.

Ireland has voted to sign up for Europe's new fiscal treaty. The referendum on the European Fiscal Stability Treaty saw just over 60% of people vote YES. The result was welcomed by the Irish prime minister, and EU officials, but No campaigners warned that the government must now meet its promises on growth and job creation.

The general public do not understand what is going on and don’t want to understand. They just want the politicians to “Get on with it!” just like they are and they want a fair slice of it for their family. Everyone wants to feel the Dunkirk spirit in what the right honourable David Cameron, Prime Minister of Great Britain, said once he took office, “We are all in this together”.
